Choosing a Mack Service Contract
for your TV

Minimum requirements for purchasing a Mack Service agreement

The TV must have a minimum 90 days of manufacturer/dealer warranty to be eligible for a Mack Service Agreement. The warranty must be stated on the invoice.

Purchasing a TV in Canada for use in Canada

You need to purchase the service agreement with no less than 90 days of manufacturer warranty remaining.

Two options exist:

1. Three year in-home* extended service agreement - adds service for an additional three years to the manufacturer warranty.

2. Five year in-home* service agreement takes affect from the date of purchase of the TV purchase. This is an overlapping coverage that provides secondary coverage during the manufacturer warranty period. The manufacturer must perform any repairs during their warranty period. Mack's service agreement only becomes effective at the end of the manufacturer warranty period. The benefit of the five year service agreement comes in the form of an additional year of coverage that the above three agreement does not offer.

Purchasing a TV in the USA for use in Canada

Two options exist:

Since the TV technically has no warranty in Canada you should purchase the service agreement with no less than 90 days of manufacturer warranty remaining.

Two scenarios:

1. The TV has 1 or 2 year warranty in the USA. You need to purchase a service agreement with no less than 90 days manufacturer or dealer warranty remaining. There must be a minimum 90 days of dealer/manufacturer warranty on the TV to be eligible for a Mack Service Agreement. If you buy a service agreement that extends your coverage three years, that agreement would take effect after the manufacturer warranty expires. You would be obligated to have any manufacturer warranty work done in the USA for the duration of the manufacturer warranty. You would have in-home* coverage for year three additional years.

2. If you buy a service agreement that provides for five years of coverage from the date of the TV purchase, that agreement would take effect after the first 90 days. You would be obligated to have any manufacturer/dealer warranty work done in the USA for the first 90 days. You would have in-home* coverage from day 91 to five years from the date of the TV purchase.

* Note: Although most Mack Service agreements are "in-home", if circumstances require shipping the unit to a service provider because there is no local service provider, the service agreement does not cover the cost of shipping.  Service contracts are NOT TRANSFERABLE.
